We're transforming our old polytunnel space into a brand new, tricked-out chicken coop and runāand weāre doing it with sustainability in mind! ā»ļø
Swipe through to see the journey so far:1ļøā£ Our very first polytunnel gave out under weather stressā¦2ļøā£ The second didnāt make it through a brutal winter storm.3ļøā£ Now, weāre reclaiming the space with a purpose.
We're building the coop structure from reclaimed palletsāpulling materials out of the waste stream to create something beautiful and functional. The old polytunnel frame? Thatās now the skeleton of our new poultry yard!
Before construction, we:ā Pulled up the brick borders from the old in-ground bedsā Leveled the whole area using our battery cultivatorā Laid down 6mm black plastic to suppress weeds during the build
This is a step toward more resilient, environmentally conscious farmingāand a happier home for our girls! š£š
