Each summer, the grounds surrounding the Garst Museum in Greenville, Ohio, fill with artists, craftspeople, musicians, historical interpreters and characters from more than two centuries of American history.
Gathering at Garst | Where Ohio History Comes to Life begins with the history of Greenville itself—from Fort Greene Ville and the Battle of Fallen Timbers to the 1795 Treaty of Greenville and Ohio's emergence from the Northwest Territory. From there, the film steps inside the Gathering's living-history encampment to explore the everyday skills through which generations experienced history: cooking, textiles, blacksmithing, trade, traditional crafts, military life and historical medicine.
